One Year of GENIUS: Republicans Must Continue Building on Pro-Innovation Digital Asset Policies

WASHINGTON – One year ago this Saturday, President Trump signed the GENIUS Act into law. The legislation, originally introduced by U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN), provided a much-needed regulatory framework for stablecoins.

Sentinel Action Fund President Jessica Anderson released the following statement:

One year ago this Saturday, President Trump signed landmark stablecoin legislation into law and took a significant step towards solidifying the United States’s position as the world’s crypto capital. The GENIUS Act established the regulatory framework for stablecoins, laying the foundation for long-term growth and innovation in the digital asset ecosystem. Now, Republicans must continue working alongside the administration to help bring the same type of clear, common sense rules to the broader digital asset market.

From day one, President Trump and Republicans have remained committed to delivering on their promises to advance digital freedom and strengthen America’s leadership in crypto innovation. In 2024, Americans with digital assets were key partners in the broader Republican coalition to elect President Trump and the Republican Senate majority – and that coalition has already delivered meaningful results. Sentinel Action Fund was proud to have supported many of the Republicans who helped get the GENIUS Act across the finish line and we look forward to continuing our work to elect even more pro-crypto Republicans to the U.S. Senate.
