PA DEBATE: Bob Casey Gave Excuses While Dave McCormick Gave Solutions, McCormick Positions Himself to Take the Lead in Key Battleground State
WASHINGTON – Today, Republican Dave McCormick and Democrat Senator Bob Casey held a Senate debate in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The debate comes as new polling from the Sentinel Action Fund shows the two are locked in a statistical tie ahead of November’s election.
Sentinel Action Fund President Jessica Anderson released the following statement:
“Dave McCormick’s performance tonight will be an added bonus to the weeks and months of incredible progress he and Republicans have made to win Pennsylvania and build a new Senate majority. Speaking directly to Pennsylvania workers and parents, McCormick thoughtfully outlined a new vision forward to make life safer and more affordable for all families. As Dave McCormick provided these substantive answers for Pennsylvania voters, all Bob Casey could do was make excuses for his record of failure.
While Bob Casey continued his ‘greedflation’ blame game and made excuses for his support of the reckless spending bills that have caused prices to skyrocket in the Commonwealth, Dave McCormick articulated a commonsense plan to make life more affordable by cutting spending, lowering taxes, and reinvesting in American energy. On the border, Bob Casey deflected questions of why he repeatedly opposed border security bills in Congress, but Dave McCormick gave real solutions to end the crisis at our southern border and stop drug cartels from flooding communities and schools with deadly fentanyl. On foreign policy, Dave McCormick called out Bob Casey’s betrayal of Pennsylvania’s Jewish community and made it clear he had a plan to support Israel and stand up to adversaries like Iran and China.
Importantly, voters were also reminded tonight how similar Senator Bob Casey is to Kamala Harris. Senator Bob Casey has spent his career in Washington voting in line with Chuck Schumer, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris on everything from inflationary spending bills to open borders policies. He has been a longtime supporter of Kamala Harris despite her support to ban fracking, a policy which would be catastrophic for the Commonwealth.
After tonight, the contrast has never been more obvious and the choice to elect Dave McCormick has never been more clear for Pennsylvania voters.”
